EMDR Consultation for Therapists Who Want to Feel Confident, Not Confused

So, You've completed your EMDR training. Now what?

You left your EMDR basic training feeling inspired and ready to help your clients heal from trauma. But when you sit down with your first EMDR client, the doubts creep in:

  • Am I choosing the right target?

  • What if my client gets too activated and I can't bring them back down?

  • Is this case even appropriate for EMDR?

  • Why isn't the processing moving forward?

  • Am I doing this wrong?

You're not alone, and you don't have to figure this out by yourself.

EMDR consultation gives you a safe, supportive space to:

  • Get clear on case conceptualization - Learn how to identify the right targets and create effective treatment plans for your unique clients

  • Build your confidence - Practice the protocol with real case examples and get immediate feedback in a non-judgmental environment

  • Troubleshoot stuck points - Discover what to do when processing stalls, clients dissociate, or unexpected material comes up

  • Deepen your understanding - Really get the Adaptive Information Processing model and how it guides your clinical decisions

  • Strengthen your skills - Master resource development, affect tolerance building, and adapting the protocol for different presentations

Whether you're working with complex trauma, attachment wounds, phobias, or recent traumatic events, consultation helps you apply EMDR effectively and ethically.

My approach

I believe consultation should feel supportive, not stressful. My goal is to create a space where you can bring your questions, uncertainties, and "I have no idea what to do here" moments without judgment.

I've been using EMDR since 2017 and am an EMDRIA Certified Therapist and EMDRIA Consultant in Training. In my own practice, I work primarily with complex trauma, anxiety disorders, and folks struggling with embodiment, so I understand the nuances of applying EMDR with clients who have layered, complicated presentations.

My consultation style is:

  • Collaborative - We'll figure out solutions together based on your clinical judgment and your client's needs

  • Practical and specific - I'll give you concrete tools and strategies you can use immediately

  • Encouraging - Learning EMDR is a journey, and I'm here to support you through the uncertain parts
