Individual Therapy
So let us pick up the stones over which we stumble, friends, and build altars.
- Padraig O’Tuama
The main invitation of individual psychotherapeutic work is for you to learn to befriend yourself. This means being with what comes up, and finding a sense of your own two feet in this one, precious moment.
When we work together, we uncover what's underneath the symptoms and gently address it. My clients tell me they finally feel like they can be with what's been weighing them down, find stillness amidst the chaos, and show up with more presence and peace in their relationships and lives.
I know that starting therapy can feel vulnerable, like stepping into the unknown. But you don't have to have it all figured out ahead of time. We'll move at your pace, and I'll be right there with you—holding space for both your wild heart and the quiet mind you're seeking.
What Makes This Different
I use a blend of approaches because, frankly, different things work for different people:
EMDR for processing traumatic memories and negative beliefs
Somatic techniques for working with what's happening in your body
Mindfulness practices for staying present and groundedGood old-fashioned talk therapy when that's what's needed
The goal isn't to make you feel "fixed"—it's to help you feel more like yourself and more capable of handling whatever life throws at you.
